Note: If someone with scheduling permissions scheduled the meeting on your behalf, you likely also received an email notification from Zoom with a link to the meeting. Joining a Meeting Alternative Host Follow these directions if someone else scheduled the Zoom meeting and listed you as an Alternative Host. Dial in to one of the Zoom call-in numbers. This name is simply to identify you in the meeting. Please enter both your given and family names. You will then be prompted how you wish to join your audio. If you are unable to join from Zoom on a computer or mobile device, then you can join on the telephone instead. Simply enter this number followed by and your video and audio will then be synchronised. A chat window will then open. You can upload and share files with other participants during the meeting by clicking on "File".
Files must be in the following formats: pdf, jpeg, jpg, doc,docx, pptx and ppt. It is possible that during the conference participants will be ask to turn off their cameras and move to audio only, particularly if there are problems with the available bandwidth.
It is recommended to mute your microphone when you are not speaking to reduce background noise and improve audio quality. At the bottom of the window on the right side of the screen, click the button labeled "Raise Hand. The same method can be used to raise your hand in a Zoom meeting on a mobile device, simply tap "Raise Hand" at the bottom left corner of the screen. The hand icon will turn blue and the text below it will switch to say "Lower Hand" while your hand is raised.
